BRIGADE A Novel by
Claude-Rober Policart.
“Who am I now? What am I now?” The blue beauty gazed at her blue, webbed hands, at the tendrils rooted to her that flopped down to her ankles.
“You my sister, are a child of the light, a child wronged in life by man and spawned by pain.” The blue beauty’s face reflected inside Ruth’s and black on black eyes, as Ruth’s soul woed sorrowfully.
“They did this to me.” Anger bristled, as the blue beauty inspected her new ungainly, webbed hands. Iridescent, blue-ringed octopus tentacles drooped from her scalpe, and mopped over her eyes.
“And I promise you," Ruth wiped the tears that streaked across her sister's flushed cheeks. "we will drink the icy nectar of vengence together.”
